their are pair you can short can make + swap on to EUR/AUD for example AUD has a higher rate than EUR so when you short that pair your buying AUD which will give you + swap.

I agree I end up making more pips grabbing to small trades that last an hour or 2 than sometimes you get lucky and the trade just keeps running and running.
