hi Avraham, OP in the second strategy is talking about only taking 2 trades: buy on level 4 and 5 below medium, sell on level 4 and 5 above medium. stop losses on level 6 and 7. so even better with only 2 trades.

After the big run-up from the Trump/tax/infrastructure effect, I feel that the high in the S&P500 and Nasdaq are in. Not saying we`ll crash tomorrow, just thinking that we wont see the high of 7,214 in Nasdaq100 again for a long time. but I might be ...

you certainly can do trend and range trading safely. just determine the longer-term trend on the daily. oh ok, the trend is up on the daily TF. now we only buy near the bottom of the range, not sell at the top of the range. we could have a stop in ...

from my understanding, we only do contrarian trades here: sell when price rises through level 4 and 5 above the median. buy when price drops through level 4 and 5 below the median.

We all need to use the same SL and TP in order to compare backtest results. Every trade is in 2 positions: 1 position with SL under or above the signal candle and TP the same amount of pips as the SL.........no confusion there. 2nd position: SL ...

post 84: in chart 3: don't think your pending order is in the right place......... should be at the high of the signal candle??? just to avoid any confusion

I don't see that the SL is tighter than the TP: you enter when price breaks the high of the signal candle, your TP is the size of the signal candle and the SL is below the signal candle. So wouldn`t r:r be 1:1 - SL = TP?

I looked into VIX a bit more and trading it for the longer-term can be quite costly. every 30 days the front futures contracts expire. no surprise here. what is a surprise is that the VIX futures act like options, because there is time decay. VIX 15 ...

however to roll over to the next monthly contract will be quite costly. suppose you have to wait 2 years after buying your contracts @ $11.00 for a lot of volatility: 24x roll over @ 0.15 spread = $ 3.60 suddenly your average price is $ 14.60!

hi C. thank you for your detailed reply. I agree that Nat Gas has a bright future, but I don't see why that would increase prices. producers like Santos, Shell etc will just pump more of the stuff when demand is higher. wishing you a lot of success ...

hi C. must admit I`m surprised with your targeted TP of 9.624 for Nat Gas. only got there 4x in the last 20 years and not since December 2008 = almost 9 years! did you research the reason why the price went up that far those 4 times? strikes, broken ...

the S&PVIX futures are a part of the CBOE exchange. the multiplier is $ 1,000, so at $ 11.00, the contract would be worth $ 11,000. the contracts expire monthly. the margin is quite high and the further out you go, the lower the margin. for the June ...
