Read the thread.... Generally silver is viewed as high beta to gold ie it is more extreme in its movements - they are correlated but can diverge viz Friday's drop in silver whereas gold remained more or less unchanged. beeb

With FOMC tomorrow there will probably only be light trading today and, as per the link in post #21,964, there is every possibility of some volatility before the trend embeds...... Moves should imho be viewed with some suspicion. beeb

That's the basic concept - it gives an idea of an area of likely retracement, though I would not suggest using it in isolation...... A further refinement is the use of the P as detailed above beeb
