traderone replied Oct 13, 2006Great. Thanks for this Wackena. But................ What are we going to use for the number of hours before close? How about a tolerable loss number for pips? I'm thinking 120 hours (5 days) and maybe 80 pips. Time enough to get over a few ...

traderone replied Oct 12, 2006Greg, What pairs are your favorites? This looks similar to the "25" system in some ways. Thanks for presenting it here. I like how you deal with exits.

traderone replied Oct 12, 2006No MoneyMa$ter, I knew you weren't worried about the 100 pips. I was just kidding a little. (If I can do that on a day that I lose two 300 pip trades
). I appreciate your thoughts on this and have often wondered about lowering the SL (why just hang ...Firebird EA - fixed version -

traderone replied Oct 11, 2006If you can find Accrete's homepage he has a pdf file that discusses all about the firebird. Also, go to the original thread where Mono was most active for some more thoughts on settings etc. I think the name of that thread was "please test this EA ...

traderone replied Oct 11, 2006MOneyma$ter, how much float are you carrying on your Firebirds? I know you closed 14 trades, but are even more still open? I had to close down my live account for the first time in over a month. Was afraid I would lose my shirt, then of course the ...

traderone replied Oct 11, 2006Well.... cgldsmth, I'm not down 90% but I must admit that the NFP dealt my account some pretty bad blows. Now showing a loss in equity instead of a gain. Doesn't seem to be coming around either! I'm thinking about actually closing all the trades ...

traderone replied Oct 4, 2006Well actually it works "internally" off of an M30 timeframe but what chart do we use for attaching the EA? I saw someone using M1 which has confused me. Firebird uses M30 internally but seems to work better on M5 or M1 charts. That was the reason ...

traderone replied Oct 4, 2006Pips are subjective?

Of all the things that I can think of that are subjective, I would have to say that pips are definitley NOT. Also, I decide to go live with a system solely on what my performance with it has shown me. What else is ...Vote the most profitable method

traderone replied Oct 4, 2006I let my Firebird run 24/5 but shut off my trading PC Friday afternoon and turn it back on Sunday evening when trading begins. I've studied the percentages Firebird gets with settings like 35-250-25 and it trades just as well or better than I do ...

traderone replied Oct 3, 2006NOt sure about all your questions but here goes: Use the FB v1.0a available in the first post of this thread. On a thousand dollar mini lot I would trade four pairs at .25 mini lots. I am using the USDCHF, EURUSD, USDJPY, and USDCAD to good effect. ...

traderone replied Oct 3, 2006I'm afraid I wouldn't touch any Firebird at a 42 SL. I've changed my H04 to 300 for sure and am running on M5. I just haven't had any luck at all with less than 200 stop losses. You know, firebird trades against the so called trend, and I think for ...

traderone replied Oct 2, 2006Why did you close the trade? Just because it is going the wrong way now does not mean it will be next week. Or tomorrow. We will never know how well an EA performs unless we let it perform. Just a thought.
