lever70 replied May 9, 2007May 10 — Carry trades appear to be back in play and the dollar is rallying on the back of FOMC, especially against the Euro and Pound. Changes in bias from yesterday: Long: CADJPY CHFJPY Neutral GBPUSD - leaning short USDCAD EURAUD - has gone ...

lever70 replied May 9, 2007Yes, that's all correct. Sometimes I'll look at the 4H and daily charts because it's good to be aware of the longer term trend. But the hourly is sufficient to trade on its own.

lever70 replied May 8, 2007Two that are popular here are Fozzy Daily and Vegas Daily. If I were trading off EOD charts I would pick the latter. Trading off trendlines and channels is a good way to enter on longer term charts. You'll only be wrong once.

lever70 replied May 8, 2007You mean philosophical? Sorry to be annoying on the spelling, but I am an academic philosopher by training. Can't let that one go by.

lever70 replied May 8, 2007Yes, for that reason too. I do not take shorts on JPY pairs. At least not yet.

lever70 replied May 8, 2007Yes, there was a strong downtrend, but the pullback has been steep, especially on GBPJPY (about a 60-degree angle). This often happens when there is a sharp move up or down. I like to see pullbacks that are curved as opposed to angled. The prices ...

lever70 replied May 8, 2007Nothing wrong with that. Just be aware that you're exposing yourself to more whipsaws. I would restrict pullback entries to the 24 EMA. Um, "Clansman" is not the best choice of name. I mean, dude!

lever70 replied May 8, 2007We're looking for a candle that closes with authority over or under the 72 EMA on the 30M chart: image The one I was referring to is indicated by the first arrow. This would not have been a good one to take because it came late in the NY session. ...

lever70 replied May 7, 2007London was closed today and it wasn't the best day to trade Cable. Unfortunately the 30M signaled an initial short several candles ago. That doesn't mean you get out; 9945 was a valid 24 EMA entry and price is hanging around the 72 EMA. London ...

lever70 replied May 5, 2007If you are trading ONLY on the hourly chart, it is not necessary to wait for the candle close, and doing so will prevent you from entering at a discount. You can put an entry order at the 12 or 24 EMA, depending on the angles of the shorter EMAs. If ...

lever70 replied May 5, 2007I understand where you're coming from, and it is only fairly recently that I myself ditched the indicators. If I were a purist, I would not even use EMAs, which are still indicators. I like EMAs because they help me see where price is going. But to ...

lever70 replied May 4, 2007Cranky — I'm getting a bit frustrated with this thread. I'm glad you had a nice trade, but it has no place here. Countertrend trades don't conform to my rules at all. Is it really too much to ask that this thread be confined to the discussion ...

lever70 replied May 3, 2007We don't trade crosses. Crosses merely indicate trend direction. We pullbacks/trend resumptions from key EMAs, or the breakout from the 72 EMA on the 30M chart, or the breakout from a congestion area above or below the 72 EMA. The longer term exit ...

lever70 replied May 2, 2007One other thing, I am not risking 50 pips to make 20. The 50 pip stop is if you are trading longer-term like Kharvell. When I am looking to make 20 intraday my stop is tight, about 10 pips. Of course, it is good to let it run past 20 if it clearly ...
