LongToBeFree replied Dec 2, 2008Is this a new development? I can't find anything on their web site that indicates that they didn't offer it before.
Forex.com now offering MetaTrader
-
LongToBeFree replied Dec 2, 2008I really have no idea. You're bigger concern will be the data transfer. Three terminals will be downloading a lot of data and you might run into issue of going over the alloted transfer and those charges can quickly add up.
EA VPS or VDS hosting...
-
LongToBeFree replied Dec 2, 2008OK, that makes sense - just as I suspected - watching multiple pairs on a single EA chart would lag in data just a bit. The quicker solution would be to put your EA on a pair that you know is highly active like EURUSD and that would minimize (but ...

LongToBeFree replied Dec 2, 2008Yes, MT4 will only run on Windows. While the Linux packages they offer are cheaper, the Windows ones are not bad. IMO, the 6 months for $90 offers the best value.
EA VPS or VDS hosting...
-
LongToBeFree replied Dec 2, 2008Wouldn't one trade that never hits the TP completely run your account into the ground? At the very least, you'd have to make sure that the parameter (long or short) was going in the direction of the trend. Otherwise the first trade could end your ...
[EA Request] Simple EA needed
-
LongToBeFree replied Dec 2, 2008I researched this just last month and here's what I found: You want to get a VPS solution because that will give you complete control over the machine - VDS might not always do that. Forget about all the "we're the MT4 host experts" companies. You ...
EA VPS or VDS hosting...

LongToBeFree replied Dec 2, 2008Maybe I'm not thinking hard enough, but I just can't imagine a scenario where tick-by-tick information is not enough. Unless I'm looking at various pairs with the same EA on a single chart, tick-by-tick should be *plenty* of movement.

LongToBeFree replied Nov 28, 2008Youre not enabled for PMs I might be interested. Have done work for other FF members before. Let me know the basics of what you're looking for
Looking for help in tweaking an ea

LongToBeFree replied Nov 28, 2008Again, I do realize that learning C# would seem contrary to the goal of creating an EA with MQL. But if you're starting from a lower base of programming knowledge, it's very hard to work effectively with MQL. On the other hand, if you take a good C# ...
How to make a program in metatrader.
-
LongToBeFree replied Nov 28, 2008In my experience, it's very hard to write a programming tutorial without forgetting at least a couple of things that seem obvious to an experienced programmer, but are really, really hard for newbies. If you REALLY want to learn MQL, my best advice ...

LongToBeFree replied Nov 27, 2008Can someone please provide a definition for I4B, I3B and I2B in terms of what they look like on a chart?

LongToBeFree replied Nov 27, 2008In this version it should play an alert for every single pip change on the chart. If it changes two pips, it will play the alert IF you pick files that are short enough. They would have to be shorter than the defaults that I have included. ...
Blind trading using sonics
-
LongToBeFree replied Nov 27, 2008I agree with this. I replied to an ad by this same poster (pretty sure at least) and quoted a fair price and was told that it was too high. The more people you involve in an MQL project, the less people want to (and can) pay. Most MQL projects are ...

LongToBeFree replied Nov 27, 2008This is done and I've attached it below. Has a new variable for you to set the WAV file and it will play when a new arrow is shown on the indicator.
Ema Cross Alert With Sound
-
LongToBeFree replied Nov 26, 2008Here's another version. However, you have to pick VERY short sound files. The way it is now, with the two default sound files, it will not work. It's also possible that the MT platform simply can't handle files that frequently.

LongToBeFree replied Nov 25, 2008Going back to the original question, if you read "Trading for a Living" the old rule-of-thumb has basically been to lock in 50% of your profits. Now, that book was mostly written for stock trading, so some people would say that the range of forex ...
Where do you set you're stop loss?

LongToBeFree replied Nov 25, 2008So you basically do a very large trailing stop (500 pips) or do you change it along the way?
Where do you set you're stop loss?
-
LongToBeFree replied Nov 25, 2008Interesting - I can see the benefit of what you're doing. Do you get back in at the same point or do you just wait for another set up?
