LongToBeFree replied Dec 16, 2008Just finished reading the whole PDF and it was interesting. Basically, you would need two accounts in order to continue with a hedge strategy. NFA is basically looking at it like "saving traders from themselves" and I think that its a good idea.

LongToBeFree replied Dec 16, 2008IMO, if you're worried about 5 pips, 10 pips, you're doing it wrong. Move up to the higher timeframes where you're dealing with HUNDREDS of pips and trading will be much easier. Not only is the pace different, but the indicators/signals are more ...

LongToBeFree replied Dec 16, 2008This is not difficult. 1 - When you open your orders, store the order numbers (ints) into an array 2 - When each tick changes, check to see if it matches the stop loss of your first active order 3 - if it does, then run through the array and close ...

LongToBeFree replied Dec 8, 2008Coming up with the Kelly number for the lot size of each trade would probably help the most during a random strategy. You could also incorporate that into your TP number but that would only work best during the long term.

LongToBeFree replied Dec 6, 2008I would never run an EA in live that didn't backtest properly. Until recently, I haven't created any EAs that run properly so I've never had one in live. Running an EA live without positive backtesting results is insanity.
How long has your best EA ran live before you adjusted it or moved on?

LongToBeFree replied Dec 6, 2008What do you mean - is this something that is being sold but was then de-compiled? I commend your honor in this.

LongToBeFree replied Dec 4, 2008This, most likely, would not be possible. MQL Indicators are limited to 8 buffers. Each buffer represents a source of output, so you would basically need 20 buffers - not possible in a single indicaor. So, you'd have to find a way to break this out ...

LongToBeFree replied Dec 3, 2008See, now you're changing what you had in your original post
. Which is good, because, quite frankly, your first post about a trade in a random direction was just plain stupid. If you trade with the overall trend and take profits X pips at a ...[EA Request] Simple EA needed

LongToBeFree replied Dec 2, 2008Some of those are serious overkill. I'm waiting for my new house to be built and I already know which room is going to be my office. 2, maybe 3 screens max and that's all you really need. Otherwise, you better have some *good* air conditioning in ...
