mitch77 commented Jan 18, 2015.....and you clearly dont understand that funds are segregated. Also FCA compensation up to £50K which would not be needed as traders funds are segregated. I dont even trade with Alpari but know that it wont be a problem getting funds back.

Their ECN accounts have higher commission and higher spreads than Lmax, which is a regulated multilaterial trading facility from the UK

mitch77 replied Jan 16, 2015The reason why they have gone out of business is because they are an ECN. Market Makers hedge against clients ie Oanda. Interactive Brokers is also out of pocket by $120 million due to negative balances of client accounts.

mitch77 replied Jan 16, 2015Because the clients accounts are negative and someone has to pay for the losses, the client or the broker. Market Makers are the brokers that win the day as they are long when you are short and vice versa!

mitch77 replied Jan 16, 2015I think you have that around the wrong way. Market Makers can offset looses ECN/STP brokers cannot. If they had of hedged against clients positions then they would be fine just like Oanda which is a MM.
