Grayscale is making its bitcoin fund more compliant, and it could lure billions of institutional dollars
Crypto asset manager Grayscale is hoping a bit more government oversight will make its popular bitcoin trust more appealing to institutional clients. The New York-based firm said Tuesday that it has voluntarily filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to register its bitcoin trust fund (GBTC), a move that will make the trust “a familiar structure” to investors more comfortable with exchange-traded funds (ETFs), said Grayscale director of communications Marissa Arnold. Grayscale Investments®, the largest digital currency asset manager and sponsor of Grayscale® Bitcoin Trust (OTCQX: GBTC), today announced that it has publicly filed a Registration Statement on Form 10 with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on behalf of Grayscale Bitcoin Trust.* This is a voluntary filing that is subject to SEC review.
