Trump-backed crypto ethics rule assigns DOJ enforcement, bars federal officials from issuing cryptocurrencies
U.S. lawmakers are moving closer to a deal on the Clarity Act after months of negotiations over ethics limits tied to digital assets. The latest language signed by President Donald Trump would ban top federal officials from issuing cryptocurrencies and would make the Justice Department the main enforcement authority. The Block reports that the newly approved provision would apply to federal officials including members of Congress, the president and the vice president, according to sources familiar with the matter.
