The Block reported that White House officials on Thursday sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader John Thune and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer defending President Donald Trump's approach to regulatory appointments and rejecting Democratic criticism over vacancies at key agencies. In the letter, the officials said they wanted to "set the record straight" and argued that Democrats have obstructed every civilian nominee while Trump has still nominated Democrats to important posts.
