Japanese investment firm Metaplanet acquired 2,823 Bitcoin during the second quarter at an average price of approximately $88,300 per coin, pushing its total holdings past 43,000 BTC. The purchase lowered the company’s average acquisition cost to roughly $106,500 from $107,700, according to a July 2 regulatory filing.
