US consumer confidence dips slightly in March

The Consumer Sentiment Index in the United States slid 1.9% in March compared to the month prior, to stand at 55.5, a preliminary report posted by the University of Michigan showed on Friday. The figure slipped by 2.6% on an annual level. The Current Economic Conditions Index went up by 2.1% in the reported period compared to February and declined by 9.4% compared to March 2025, amounting to 57.8 points. The Index of Consumer Expectations decreased by 4.4% on a monthly basis, but gained 2.9% on a yearly basis, coming in at 54.1.
