Metaplanet expects operating profit to rise 81% in 2026 after 17-fold surge
Japan’s Metaplanet, the country’s largest publicly listed company by Bitcoin reserves, forecasts an 81% increase in operating profit in 2026. Last year, the figure jumped 17-fold, driven by an active options-writing strategy. In 2025, the company’s operating profit reached 6.29 billion yen ($40.8 million). The main driver was premiums from writing options, which surged to 7.98 billion yen from 691 million yen a year earlier. Total revenue rose 738% to 8.9 billion yen, according to the company’s report.
