‘Crypto winter’: Why is Bitcoin crashing despite Trump’s support?
Crypto markets came under pressure this week when the price of the world’s most popular cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, tumbled to its lowest level in more than a year. On Thursday afternoon, the price of Bitcoin fell below $66,000 and was hovering at about $62,900 on Friday morning. The fall in the price of the digital asset kicked off in the last weekend of January, when it fell below $80,000. In October last year, Bitcoin hit an all-time peak of more than $127,000 before falling back to about $90,000 in December.
