Bitcoin crashes below $80K again as investors panic
The crypto market suffered a massive blow on Jan. 31 as Bitcoin (BTC) crashed below $80,000. It's the cryptocurrency's lowest price since April 2025, when BTC crashed following U.S. President Donald Trump unleashing "Liberation Day" tariffs. BTC was trading at $79,044.05 at the time of writing, down 4.5% in a day. Gold, which had been hitting new record highs every few days, also crashed more than 8% in a day to $4,893.2 per oz.
