Russian central bank prepares crypto regulation
The Central Bank of Russia unveiled a proposal to regulate cryptocurrencies on Tuesday that would permit both qualified and non-qualified investors to acquire digital assets under specific rules. This comprehensive strategy seeks to establish a legislative base by July 1, 2026. The central bank categorizes the investors with regard to financial education, work experience, income, and assets, and non-qualified investors will be limited to purchasing 300,000 rubles worth of cryptocurrency annually through a designated intermediary under the new framework.
