The race to become the Federal Reserve's next chair appeared almost over just a couple of weeks ago, but it's now back to looking like a real competition. Kevin Hassett, a top economist in the Trump administration, was the clear front-runner in early December, but former Fed governor Kevin Warsh lately has re-emerged as a strong contender. Prediction market Kalshi put Warsh's chances at 48% on Monday afternoon, while Hassett was at 41%. Polymarket had Warsh at 49%, with Hassett at 43%.
