The NCA co-operated fully with our investigation when Paul Chowles’s offending came to light and he has been sacked from the agency. Chowles, 42, from Bristol was part of an NCA investigation which targeted organised criminal networks selling illegal goods on the dark web in 2013. He admitted stealing and hiding the 50 Bitcoin – then worth nearly £60,000 – which had been seized as criminal property during the investigation.
