Leaders in Washington DC have voiced their concerns that TikTok poses a national security risk due to its ownership by Beijing technology company, ByteDance. Hours after taking office in January, President Donald Trump signed an executive order delaying the federal ban on TikTok. The order extended a potential sale of TikTok, which had a January 19 deadline to sell the company to a US-owned company or face a complete ban in the country, for 75 days.
