Ex-Deutsche Bank exec sentenced to prison over $1.5M crypto fraud
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced it won its case against Rashawn Russell, a former investment banker at Deutsche Bank in New York. The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York charged Russell with fraudulent solicitation and misappropriation of investor assets obtained for the purported purpose of trading digital assets on behalf of customers. The CFTC said Russell tricked people into giving him money for a digital asset fund and took more than $1 million from investors.
