Mate, disinflation is a v naughty misnomer. A slower rate of inflation aided by the tail wind of data base effect is is not a victory. At best, it is evidence that Armageddon may not be nigh. At worst you would argue that current rate hikes have achieved a non significant outcome so far.

Please stop using the buzz word "disinflation". Inflation is still very much here, ruining lives: to attach "mis" implies the opposite. V naughty indeed, proceed directly to propaganda prison, you cavalier technocrat.

Thanks.

"disinflation, disinflation, disinflation"

and

"If Data Were to Continue to Come in Stronger Than Expect, Would Certainly Raise Rates More": implies they will need lots of inflation surpises to the upside to continue on a hawkish path: aka is a dovish statement with the NFP big beat back drop.

Their goal? You can literally follow his words vs previous statements vs previous context. It’s like he’s being explicit without being explicit. Actively being confusing, definitely not.

Nothing is new, this has all been priced in and things are unfortunately not moving in accordance to what was ideal for the FED at this given time. You have to remember Powell seeks confidence for market participants unfortunately participants even get tired of participating when the wrong statements are made. Everyone knows this the most dovish performance we have seen out of Powell for sometime. It's not Powell's fault much less the FED, FED have made their mistakes but they have also implemented their tools to integrate solutions. It takes time (data/information) and patterns (participant confidence) for the FED to understand where they truly rest and what obstacles are left to resolve. This is Powell pumping brakes and feeling out the FEDs progress.
BTW the Euro has been down for sometime and it still seems retracing a large portion of that downtrend. If you are swinging consider the current trend and if you are shorting reconsider strategy (Stop loss/Take profit) because Euro closed just under previous close.

Don't explode misinformation of Powel. He never said USD was weak but he, again and again, said a huge increase number of employees earning will effect of US economy to increase strength. USD/JPY gap-up was not corrected. Besides this pair move up aggressively up to 132.903 without rest/corrected. Price was required to correct which logical price was in 130.500. The market is now at a logical price to move long. It was not a manipulation issue. It was logical.

Good afternoon. It’s a pleasure to be here in Québec to speak to you about monetary policy and the economy. As we approach the three-year mark of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada, we are also entering a new phase in monetary policy. In 2022, we faced an overheated economy and high inflation, and we responded forcefully, increasing our policy interest rate rapidly. The year ahead will be different. In January, after eight consecutive interest rate increases, we said that we expect to hold the policy rate at its current level, conditional on the outlook for inflation.
