A former Microsoft MSFT -2.4% engineer, Volodymyr Kvashuk, was sentenced today for nine years for defrauding Microsoft for more than $10 million, using a bitcoin mixer to hide taxable income and filing fraudulent tax returns. This is the nation’s first Bitcoin case that has a tax component to it according to the IRS. Kvashuk is a skilled developer who worked at Microsoft from August 2016 to June 2018.
