I guess this goes on the 'Do Not Do During a Pandemic' list. https://www.nola.com/news/article_59...af4948c1c.html
They just had to do it first to find out how it worked in case the virus wasn't into those kind of activities.
Now they know.

"Masks were worn at events, social distancing was enforced, contact diaries were kept and attendees were tested for the virus or antibodies before the gathering, he wrote."

Masks and social distancing during an orgy...now thats something unique.
If less is more, just think how much more more will be.

This is typical Corporate World style of commenting something (never promise anything). Which is sad.

Excellent article cheers.
We are learning more & more, as more & more, get involved to solved the puzzle.

from rosalieone's article (a fascinating read by the way - in full)

Icenogle is a cardiac surgeon.

“So I’m about the last doctor you’d expect to be writing a paper on Covid-19,” he says.

But he spent 25 years as director of a heart transplant program, which provided him with a good understanding of immunology — something he says is uncommon for cardiologists.

During the years he was running the transplant program, Icenogle occasionally encountered cases of viral myocarditis, which before the pandemic was a rare and often deadly condition.

This led him to some surprising insights.
“When we looked at the postmortem heart specimens from these myocarditis patients, it looked like they’d died of cardiac rejection,” he says.
“We thought, gee whiz, how could this be? How could a virus cause you to reject your own heart like it was a transplant?”

Icenogle combed the research and found evidence that autoimmune processes — ones triggered by a virus — could be to blame.

He later had success treating myocarditis with powerful transplant drugs that essentially turned off the immune system and therefore blocked the autoimmune processes from doing more damage.

Now, in the context of the pandemic, Icenogle speculates that some of these same transplant drugs may prove helpful in treating Covid-19.

------------

Should this all pan out to be a successful way of treatment then overtly "stimulating" a patients autoimmune system would not be the way to go
(unless I read this wrong lol).

We do continue to make progress in this battle which is encouraging.

@TimeTells -- interesting post -- thanks.

Although I wouldn't come to the same conclusion about "overtly stimulating a patient's autoimmune system". Vaccines are really, really specific -- especially the ones that use mRNA to cause cells to create antibodies against the virus' surface protein. Those antibodies will not be attacking your heart. Plus, thousands of people have been vaccinated and monitored during the different trial phases and there have been zero reports of mycarditis.

On the other hand, if a health-challenged individual is infected by the virus and the virus isn't neutralized by a healthy immune system (or antibodies already present as the result of vaccination) then it could persist and cause the immune system to activate additional protective mechanisms that might result in unintended side-effects. The absolute last thing we should be doing is planting doubt in people's minds about getting vaccinated. If too many people take a pass on the vaccine then not only do they remain at risk -- which is their choice -- but they also put everyone else around them at risk because they continue to be potential spreaders. And wouldn't it be a shame to have a treatment at hand but it fails because too many people are gullible and believe misinformation. Hey -- isn't that exactly what happens trading forex?

1700 people die every day in USA and about 26000 around the world from Cancer alone...COVID is a joke. There will be a spike and that's about it. Making a way bigger deal out of this then it really is.
