I think that is is a must to be such a guy Because trading is hard as it is without any personal issues to add, some agendas, egotrips, rules, fixations... While there, you have to be FOCUSED AF... Money over everything (meaning over egotrip - ego with all its derivatives...) or it doesn't work.. not talking about "deal makers", some client making aka IBs etc.. but REAL traders... that are fading away but still... it is same for most similar business. It is the name of the game. If you use 50 leverage (which would be max for an american and 30 would be max for European non professional traders.

With 50 leverage and longing usdchf (highest positive swaps) you would get 0.25% then with the days of 4x swaps you can get 1% for one night - But that is extremely risky the trade itself may lose you way more than 1% only 5 pips against you and the swap makes you breakeven, but what if price went 50 pips against you? Then you lose 25% of your account.. Hence going for swaps should be done with very low risk, where they will bring very low return, but it is actually consistent. The 1% is only on special days, normally it would be a 0.25% gain with max leverage and risk of blowing more than 25% easily.

Sure, not saying it is easy, also proves my point this is real trading Just saying that I observed this in some stall market/swing, when I was somewhat "upset" of the stall but then noticed that I make money with swaps while in trade so was just playing with the idea of "consolation prize" that seemed epic But yeah, this is for certain/special market conditions with epic skills of entering PRECISELY (something we are doing in the CHEETAH thread btw)...

I am not focused on that SWAP earning right now... But would sure love to be in a strategy/trend when I can add additional profits with SWAPS, specially instead of PAYING for them.

And yeah, REAL trading brings much bigger rewards! Might still be good strategy at higher AUM, precise entry at certain/special market conditions, market/pair and direction Take care and have a nice weekend.

Also props up for you to look up or post the calcs/% of the SWAPS for some pair example, I appreciate it.

A few weeks ago there was some dude saying he traded 24/7. Seriously.

Now, I'm not sure if that is physically possible on several levels, but that's a minor point. What was more interesting to me is that I can imagine that he doesn't get laid very much.

i'd bet you most of this forum doesn't get laid much. supposed real traders come off as frustrated accountants that think A + B = C and oh i worship cash dollars and wah wah and bitcoin

BTW I think that there are no fix rules about hours... Some "need" to watch it ALL waking time... some can glimpse it... Those "hours" are for "normal" jobs
Trading is all about the juice.. I saw I man trading from CAR and made crazy profits... also from "clubs"... The other guy was watching screenS till he fell asleep on the keyboard... etc etc...

Market's don't care, that is the beauty, also it could be a pain for people coming from some profession where they praise "hard-working" "long-hour" people... That is why some will never even begin trading since they do not understand the concept of DELIVERING ALPHA vs being a good boy, working "hard", long-hours...

But yeas, I think it might be good to be obsessed/addicted/in-live (with anything) because that KEEPS you going when other might already quit... Or let me put a video since this "guy" said it best

Well, we all came here for a profit... And this is normal, but many people forget that in order to achieve high results you need to learn a lot and gain practical experience. And it is not enough to read one book or watch one video, because the market is constantly evolving, and its patterns are also changing. And in order to make a profit you need to stay afloat and constantly get new information. And I think that's what happens in any business line... So it's no surprise. But I am a bit sorry that this is not available for everyone and a lot of traders give up early. Although it is worth trying again and again, the main thing is that you work on your mistakes and correct them.

Yeah I noticed that many are still here for profits it just that they can not put it before the ego/emotions Hard to master the later two...

And also... if people would really want it completely "fair"... many "games" would vanish overnight... But do they really want that? It seems not, as long as it is in their favour at least... Seems no one complains about leverage, debt, mortgages, bubbles, ponzis, you name it... until they can maximise ROI with such tools... or even get money out of thin air.... If they get it (money/profits), they attribute it to their brains/smarts alone... When/if it crashes, it is others fault or the system that was flawed Ppl... Not saying everyone is like this, but I am sure you know what I am talking about it here. Who is worse? People speculating/investing (personally/privately) in real estate (Retail), pricing people/families out of the market/city for their gain/profits and are even proud on how smart investors/businessmen/businesswomen they are and say "free market rules, not my problem"... or Hedge Funds playing in the giant "casino" (among themselves or vs big/rich players) when all know the rules? It seems it is a combination (that some want)... "Free market" when there are profits to be gained and socialism when investment goes south Or how the guy in Billions (TV series) said... "Everyone is a libertarian until it is their time to die" I myself believe in combination, social safetynet (for basics) but also options/rules that one can play THE GAME if they want... Just love playing/trading in the markets, but with all that consent and not with peoples lives like some do, privately ("lower" real estate is a good example). I mean if someone gets it right about where eur/WTI/Gold will go and "bet" on it, who will be poor exactly? If the guy gets it wrong, is his fault, right? If he gets it right, the other guy(s) that bet on the other side will lose, but they were aware of the risk/rules, right? But what if you ride the real estate bubble, with lower/budget/small apartments that some could afford and you then help inflating prices, keep people in zero net worth, from month to month? It is different in luxury market, specially high-end mansions etc... But playing with peoples's bread? Just my thoughts...

why we are here ??
My short Answer-
I was joined to FF long time ago and that time I trade only FOREX. at that period I came here to get ideas from others and read news, BUT currently i trade only Crypto!!. now i'm here ONLY to read crypto related news. and also now no feelings about others trade entry/exits.
(I lost on whole forex era - but now i'm gaining profits with crypto with my own rules and trading targets.)
just my 2 cents, trader must focus on their strategies and set ups. once in a trade, a trader must remove the money aspect of the game. I know it's not easy but once achieved, this will be your AHA moment and life changer.
