Pornhub gives NYC coronavirus workers 50K masks — and free porn

Pornhub’s stars may not always use protection, but it wants to help first responders get some during the coronavirus crisis.

The smut-streaming giant has donated 50,000 surgical masks to New York City-area workers on the front lines of the pandemic while opening up its massive porn library for free.

The donations — part of Pornhub’s “COVID-19 relief efforts” announced Tuesday — come as medical workers in the Big Apple and elsewhere confront a shortage of protective gear as the deadly virus threatens to overwhelm health care providers.

“These masks are mission critical in the fight against the COVID pandemic,” said Joe Calderone, senior vice president at Long Island’s Mount Sinai South Nassau hospital, which got 20,000 masks from Pornhub. “They will help keep our nurses, physicians and support staff safe from infection while caring for those who are stricken with the disease.”

Pornhub said it delivered 15,000 masks to FDNY EMS Local 2507, the labor union for New York City paramedics, emergency medical technicians and fire inspectors. The remaining 15,000 went to Uniformed Firefighters Association Local 94, which represents FDNY firefighters, Pornhub said.

The company added that it’s donating 50,000 euros (about $54,000) to help organizations in Germany, Italy and Spain buy additional masks and medical equipment.

Pornhub said it will also let models keep all of the proceeds from videos they sell in April after a processing fee is deducted. That means models will pocket 85 percent of their sales from Pornhub and its sister site Modelhub when they would typically keep just 65 percent.

Pornhub says it’s also donating $25,000 to the Sex Workers Outreach Project, an advocacy group, to support relief funds for sex workers affected by COVID-19.

Pornhub’s Premium service, which normally costs $9.99 a month, will be free worldwide for the next 30 days to encourage people to stay inside and stem the spread of the virus, the company said.

That means porn lovers can get their fix of coronavirus-themed skin flicks at no extra cost. Pornhub had previously scrapped the fee in locked-down countries such as Italy and France.

“With nearly one billion people in lockdown across the world because of the coronavirus pandemic, it’s important that we lend a hand and provide them with an enjoyable way to pass the time,” Pornhub vice president Corey Price said in a statement.
