    Look, I know that traders sometimes think their job is to overreact. And media folks benefit from overreacting. And political strategists have been genetically bred to overreacting. But a bit of rational analysis here is probably worthwhile. The obvious backdrop to the CPI release this morning is the somewhat-greater-than-usual volatility in the equity market, and some concerns that the economy might finally get that recession that I and others have been expecting for so long – although don’t get too chippy on that, since the Q1 contraction would be mostly due to a surge in imports from front-running tariffs. Atlanta's GDPNOW shows a contraction of 3%. It's due to the Gold imports mostly from the Switzerland to the US. Which makes you wonder, is Fort Knox that empty? 2000 metric Tonnes of physical Gold imported into the U.S. in the last 2 months.

As for the CPI, numbers are all false and inflation rate is much higher than reported. Also, another inflationary wave is coming from Biden's term that is yet to hit the economy.

What puzzles me personally, is that some folks do understand this, but haven't bought any physical Gold and/or Silver yet.
