Why do we care who wins at this point?

Both candidates will still be printing out the woohoo and helicopter money will still the touch their important cronies. So for the average American it's business as usual for both parties whoever wins Americans will still be complaining about X, Y, and Z.

To me, the Electoral College is an outdated institution and needs to be scrapped in favor pf plurality voting. Personally, I am all for mandatory voting, also, and a lot of other changes, such as limitation of campaign financing, a drastically shorter campaign period, term limits, and the abolition of formal political parties. Anyway, the anti-democracy factions in the USA (namely, the Republican Party) will never agree to any of the above, so we're stuck with the EC until they represent a surmountable minority opposed to Constitutional amendments.

Trump has divided and will divide even more that country to the point of no return. He has created the most toxic political atmosphere in living memory. Racism is being normalized again and closet racists are emboldened by his subliminal racist rhetoric. Nothing good will come out of this in the end. It's possible that the greatest threat to the US is not Russia or China but the US itself. A civil war is not a distant possibility anymore. The white nationalist love for Trump is no secret, but the divisions in the USA are more along class and gender than along race. That's why we see young Black and Hispanic men supporting Trump in numbers "never before seen." The broad divisions are: urban vs. rural, educated vs. non-educated, religious vs non-religious, white collar vs blue collar, women vs. men, LGBTQ+ vs. heterosexual, etc etc. Trump is a skillful demagogue in "us vs them" rhetoric. Most Trump supporters love Trumpism because it offers an open platform for hate of those "others" - Trumps "enemies within." I see no difference between Trump and Hitler. It's truly incredible what led in the water pipes of Midwestern states can do to the human brain. The real issue here is the influence of central banking. It's misguided to compare Trump to Hitler, as many Europeans seem to have forgotten that Hitler, despite being an anti-capitalist socialist, opposed central banking—and ultimately failed. Neither Trump nor Harris is likely to significantly alter the powers of central banks. Instead, there may simply be different approaches to achieving the central banks' goal of implementing CBDCs—either by weakening the Dollar or destabilizing Europe.
