    Yesterday was world mental health day, a point of concern for many in finance exacerbated by a year of controversial deaths in the sector. For the occasion, Kevin Lee, CEO of crypto firm Gate.HK revealed his story about his clinical depression which happened while working on the equities trading floor of a bank. Lee did not disclose the employer, but previously had stints at BNP Paribas, Macquarie and JPMorgan. His depression came shortly after a promotion, in which he "went from being the top performer in my previous position to becoming the underperformer in my new one." It is like this: Most of these people - "traders" - do not know anything about trading and the movement of the markets. They look like geniuses when the market is going up and they simply follow the trend. When the market reverses, they drop from "top performer to low performer," their clients start losing huge sums of money and the "traders" are avoiding them and telling them "you did not invest enough money and I told you there was a risk."
