Russia Reveals Miners Mined 54k BTC in 2023, $556M Tax Collected
In 2023, Russia mined approximately 54,000 Bitcoins, valued at over $3 billion, which generated around 50 billion rubles (approximately $556 million) in tax revenue for the Russian government. Sergey Bezdelov, the chairman of the Industrial Mining Association, said this at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2024) on September 4. Bezdelov emphasized that the income of the state treasury from industrial mining of Bitcoin is substantial and pointed out that the current revenue is calculated according to the current laws.
