    Key statistics: The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.6% this quarter. Over the twelve months to the December 2023 quarter, the CPI rose 4.1%. The most significant price rises this quarter were Tobacco (+7.0%), New dwelling purchase by owner-occupiers (+1.5%), Domestic holiday travel and accommodation (+3.9%) and Medical and hospital services (+1.2%). tables Annual CPI inflation was 4.1 per cent in the December 2023 quarter, lower than the 5.4 per cent annual rise in the September 2023 quarter. Shouldn't the print CPI y/y be 4.1% in Forex Factory calendar?

3.4 is for the month of december specifically & 4.1 for Q4 as a whole
Was trying to match with MT5 calendar which is as should be the case. Why the discrepancy?

It appears that Stats Australia releases two sets of CPI y/y data. One which is released quarterly along side the Q/Q inflation datas [which was 4.1] and another is monthly release of CPI y/y [which was 3.4].

FF appears to cover the later. Here was the release on Stats AU https://www.abs.gov.au/statistics/ec...latest-release

The 3.4 which FF has matches the Monthly Consumer Price Index Indicator.

Thanks. I saw the monthly update article as noted by @future911. My oversight.
Monthly figure is not covered for MT5 calendar while Forex Factory updates with the monthly figure. The reason of the discrepancy. Nonetheless, Australia inflation rate cools monthly as well as quarterly.

And I would think the monthly release of y/y data is more accurate over the other because of the consistency and frequency of release.
