You have a strong uptrend, which means you are going to want a pretty damn good bar to setup a fade here.

And then, at the top, we have a small pause bar (open and close are almost the same, so there was no net movement) and it closed near the TOP of its range. Which means, while it had bearish strength at some point, it closed with bullish pressure.

Nothing about...
Excellent insight Joel.

There is almost always some kind of a pattern hiding inside a PA BAR on a lower TF just like what you can see in 3M pattern inside 1H IPB. Not a necessary thing to look at all the time but it could be useful when you'r unsure about a setup.

Well in the hindsight you can find many things to not take the setup.lol

But looking at some general conditions here that could be applied to most of these setups.

Well first of all when you drop down below 4H you'r Win/Loss ratio also drops. Good setups could fail more often and bars of this size fail more than 40%-50% (ohhh look anther PB failing now @ 1H).

CT without Divergence on 1H,........????? No Way. I heard James telling about someone who does not take CT's without Divg and goes months on months without a loss.

Comparing the size of this IPB with previous 3 bull bars puts more doubt in the decision.

But on the other hand it looks good cause it did develop on a BRN, Exactly @ 50% of the recent swing and between 50%-62% from the 1.55 to 1.45

and in the end it could be a very high R:R if it works out but if you take it the next big question is where is your FTA.

The first bar high that comes in our way is @ 1.4983. Yea i know it's just bar high and in the hindsight every on could spot it cause it did stopped the price and reversed it.

But if take a look at how it performed at the daily TF i bet you would took some off the table and set rest at BE.

Now did this IPB worked out or not,..??????,.... everyone have their own choice.

Anyway just my views.

Does that make sense?
I do give the close a lot of weight in my trading decisions and this how we judge our PA bars.

But then sometimes i hear people saying that close is just nothing market is running around all the time and take a look at some "level 2 price terminal" and you'll forget about the close.

gets me confused sometimes.

P.S: Congrats on your 2,000 valuable posts.

Why??

I think there is some divergence. If you are comparing the bar lows then you'r right but divergence is calculated upon close so if you check closing price there certainly is some divg.

This how i see it and maybe i am wrong.

Btw just talking about divg here. I did't took this trade cause i would've like it at BRN.

Hey Slade,

Your chart is way too much zoomed in and it looks a different story on my mt4 (no single bar PA) .

Well the setups is right in between a range and price is going to hit a strong PPZ at 1.4865 which is very near to it.

You cannot take the trade unless the low ( in this case 74.51) is not broken. So the any PA bar is not valid until the high/low is not broken.

I am already in this trade but that's another story but yea i will enter another short @ 74.45.

I don't trade peaks and valleys inside the ranges.

After making a low at point A and high at point B, if price fells back in those two points i call it a ranging market. (Maybe too much simple approach but i like it that way)

This is a simple PA bar trade and nothing special ( but it could qualify as a PV trade too if you take a short at 74.45) and everyone here take their trades at break of the PA bar that's a Standard operating procedure. If the bar is not broken then no trade.

I think maybe Bundy is saying that if you could get a DBHLC at 62 fib it'll be great for shorts.

Btw i hate setups that appear just near a PPZ, BRN or Swing point but not at them they are the real teasers.lol

Yea i understand now i have edited my post.

I don't wan't to sound harsh but you seem to be in a hurry (i hope you'r not and i am wrong).

Just take one thing at a time, practice it and then move to the next. I mean spend sometime with PB's and Outside Bars and then move to others like Inside Bars and DBhlC's one by one.

start reading the thread from page 1 to 300-400. You'll get the answer of almost all of your questions.
.

Good luck.

But i never distribute/pirate other peoples stuff.

Now you can practice hundreds of daily/weekly bars in just an hour. (and free lol),.... (or you can send me donations if you like too)*
