This is the quick version of the mt5 installation to get you started:

note: On first run, mt5 places a copy of all indicator and profile files in the "[windows user]\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\C59E[long scrambled phrase]7F61\" folder. So 90% of the time, the files you copy will need to go into the users folder [mt5 users], not the original mt5 install [mt5 installation] folder that contains terminal.exe/terminal64.exe. Just to be safe, you can copy files to both folders.

The instructions assume you are running 64 bit OS and are using 64 bit mt5.

1) Copy the file 'APAMI 3.0 FREE 64bit.dll into the "[mt5 users folder]\MQL5\Libraries" folder.
2) Copy the file '!APAMI 3.0 FREE 64bit.ex5' into the "[mt5 users folder]\MQL5\Indicators" folder
3) Copy the file '!Apami_default_mt5.tpl' to the "[mt5 users folder]\profiles\Templates" folder.
4) Open the Navigator window pane and locate in the 'Custom Indicators' category. Right-click custom indicators folder and select 'refresh'.

The APAMI indicator should show up. If you do NOT see the APAMI indicator in the navigator pane, then it is not installed correctly. Go back through the instructions again.

32 bit mt5 users must use the 32bit files instead of 64bit files.

To use the indicator:

5) Open a new chart of any currency pair. Apply the !Apami_default_mt5 chart template to the chart (right-click on chart > 'Templates' > !Apami_default_mt5)
6a) Locate the !APAMI 3.0 FREE 64bit indicator in the Navigator common tab (Custom Indicators category). Drag the indicator onto the chart.
6b) Make sure 'Allow DLL imports' option is checked,. Adjust inputs as desired.
8) (optional) Right-click the Apami indicator in the navigator pane and select 'Add to favorites' to add to the favorites tab for easier use.

If you get an error message in the experts tab from '!APAMI 3.0 FREE DLL xxbit: "Cannot load 'APAMI 3.0 FREE xxbit.dll'", "Cannot call 'StartFunc', 'APAMI 3.0 FREE xxbit.dll' is not loaded", "unresolved import function call" or similar error, this means that you are trying to run 32-bit version of the indicator in 64-bit mt5 platform, or run 64-bit version in 32-bit mt5 platform.

32 bit mt5 users use the 32bit files instead of 64bit files.

Note: The indicator inputs moveComplete and moveIgnoreDistance are written for 5 digit quotes (3 digits for jpy pairs), e.g. a moveComplete of 120 = 12.0 pips. So if you are using 4 digit broker (2 digits for JPY pairs), you need to remove a digit, e.g. a moveComplete of 17 = 17.0 pips.

APAMI requires a live streaming data feed in order to draw trends without lag; leave the terminal running as needed and use a decent internet connection.
